These fans, holding handmade signs and brimming with excitement, see in Bailey and Riley not just athletes but role models. There's something special about winning a game on penalties. Let alone making history while you do it. This image portrays the raw emotion, jubilation, and overall sense of camaraderie that the women of Vermont Green Fc withstood in order to come away victorious in the clubs first ever game.

In the calm before the game, there’s a stillness that feels almost sacred—a quiet tension that hangs in the air as players ready themselves for battle. It’s in these moments that I strive to disappear into my surroundings, blending in to capture the raw, unfiltered emotion of preparation without disrupting it. This photo of Jaheim Wickham, taken in the locker room, is a perfect example of that approach. The introspection in his posture and the quiet focus in his profile speak volumes. To me, these intimate moments are the heart of storytelling—the ones that reveal not just the athlete, but the person behind the game.

It’s a quiet yet powerful reminder of purpose and resilience—a declaration of origin and a nod to something greater than oneself. In capturing this moment, I aimed to preserve the simplicity of the gesture while allowing its meaning to echo far beyond the frame. Sometimes, it’s the smallest details that carry the biggest stories.

the heart of the “Union”—a fraternity of warriors bonded by the shared understanding of a role unlike any other. To be a part of the goalkeeper’s union is to embrace the weight of responsibility, to thrive in the moments others fear, and to turn solitude into strength. It’s a role of sacrifice and glory, where every save is a battle won, and every mistake a lesson learned.

It's not all sports photos over here. On a trip to San Diego this image captures the beautiful sunset on a spring night in La Jolla. The seagull flying through the sky gives it a nice focal point while also remaining visually appealing.

In the monochrome stillness, he is more than a politician—he is a symbol of Vermont’s independent spirit, its commitment to justice, and its steadfast belief in the power of community. A face etched into the story of a state, and a legacy that transcends borders.
While there is no official order to these images, this stood out to be as my top photo of the year. At the end of Vermont Green FC's first women's match the entire stadium it felt like emptied onto the field to embrace and bring their hands in. Coach Mewis was surrounded by current players, future players and the entire community. This to me is the defining image of my 2024 year in photography and one that I will no doubt hold close to my heart.
